Interview with Max Parker for Red Hot Own It 2025 Calendar.
"Hi I'm Max Parker and I am an Actor...
I decided to own being Ginger properly when I was 18 and I grew up in School sort of believing that being a Redhead was something different and even though I refused to be bullied and sort of had a positive energy about myself when I was a kid, I always felt there was something not very attractive about being a redhead, and someone would always remind you about being a redhead. So when I think I was about 18 after dying my hair for about 4 years my tutor sat me down and was like - just be you.

Being Ginger definitely set me apart from other actors, I think when you watch something you don't just want to see carbon copies of everyone and I think the world is better in a colourful place and Red definitely deserves to be on the big screen.
It took me so long to come out, because I didn't want to prove myself wrong and so coming out to myself was probably the hardest thing. Being a gay actor was scary, I didn't want to be pigeonholed, but I also didn't want to loose out on opportunities because maybe wouldn't cast a straight lead after knowing you are gay. But honestly I've had the best experience and I've had roles playing romantic leads and honestly it's just another become another string to my boat.
Being yourself opens so many more doors than you think.

When I came out that was probably the last door that I needed to open in order to get on with my life and my career. That was literally the only thing holding me back.
Being you is the most authentically freeing thing you can do and the quicker you do it, the quicker you can live.
As I've changed and evolved as a person, my biggest life lesson is probably your never there yet, and if you sit comfortably in a circle, being comfortable, you'll never going to get places.
So I think my life lesson is to not settle and to keep pushing past that level of comfort."
